Payer’s Personal Cabinet

Payer’s personal cabinet option has only recently appeared on payment kiosks but turned out to be quite convenient. In the very near future payer’s personal cabinet will in some or other way be available on kiosks of all major payment systems.

We plan to develop support of two types of Payer’s personal cabinet in eKassir® system depending on our client’s needs. Thus, banks are interested only in “notebook” feature of Payer’s personal cabinet, because customer identification during the process of payment acceptance is the most important thing for them. Payment systems, on the other hand, will most probably need Payer’s personal cabinet in the form of electronic money system.

What is “Payer’s Personal Cabinet” on a Payment Kiosk?

Payer’s personal cabinet on a payment kiosk can be divided into two main types:

  • Notebook;
  • Electronic money system.

Below is a detailed description of these types of Payer’s personal cabinet and the difference between them.

  • Ability to customize payer interface to make the process of payments for various services more convenient for a payer. You can include payments you most often make in “My Favorites";
  • Notebook facilitates data entering when complex payments, e.g. payments for utilities or Traffic Police (GBDD) fines, are being conducted. Such complex payments require entering a lot of data about a payer (first and family names, address and so on);
  • Kiosk menu may be simplified if a particular region is selected. A muscovite seldom pays for services rendered in Vladivostok. On the other hand, an extensive range of services on the menu may be confusing and at times complicates the process of finding the necessary service provider;
  • Capability of viewing payments already made (payment statements);
  • Payer identification conducted in some or other way at the time a payer accesses the payer’s personal cabinet (may be required when certain payments are made).

“Notebook” Type is a simple option of Payer’s personal cabinet. A Notebook implemented on Elecsnet network may serve as an example. Notebook is neither a separate legal entity, nor does it play a special role in the payment system. It is an engineering solution designed for convenience of end users making payments. Main features of Notebook are the following:

  • Purchase of electronic money from Payer’s personal cabinet provider made by payer;
  • Payment for the needed service with electronic money.

Electronic Money System Type is a more complex option. Payer’s personal cabinet in OSMP system may serve as a good example. In this option Payer’s personal cabinet plays a specific role in the payment system and is in fact a separate legal entity. It is actually a system of electronic money enabling an end user having registered in the system to use personal electronic wallet. Payment of services through payer’s personal cabinet is conducted in two stages:

For a payer this process goes absolutely unnoticed and looks just like the process of access to the payer’s personal cabinet and payment for the selected service. On the opposite, for a payment system dealer whose kiosk is involved in this operation the difference is substantial. The dealer will get commission from payment system only for the payment made in favor of payer’s personal cabinet provider and does not have the possibility to assign his commission on top of it.

In addition to the features implemented in Notebook option Electronic Money System allows you the following:

  • To have a balance account in payer’s personal cabinet the funds on which can be spent on payments for different services. At the same time the problem of change is being solved. It can remain on the balance account and stored there until next payment is made;
  • To pay for services over the Internet through payment system website. Payer can just visit payment system website, enter payer’s personal cabinet and make the payment from his balance account;
  • Configure recurrent payment (e.g. once a month) of some service;
  • Transfer funds among electronic wallets of the system participants;
  • Implement various additional services characteristic only of electronic money system.

Payer Registration in the Cabinet

Payer registration in Payer’s personal cabinet of eKassir® system may be performed in two ways. The choice of the registration method depends on the owner of the system and is defined by settings.

The first method is simpler. The registration process consists of payer entering payer’s mobile telephone number and receiving sms on this mobile phone with an access code to the personal cabinet. Such registration method is employed by OSMP payment system, for example.

The second method is more complicated (when payer’s identification is needed). Payer registration and access to payer’s personal cabinet occur with the help of payment system operator. Access to the cabinet can be arranged by means of login and password, a plastic card, a card with bar code or any other method of identification envisioned by a kiosk application of the payment system owner.
